Washington Capitals' Marcus Johansson Ruled Out of Game Against New York Rangers Due to Non-COVID Illness

 Washington Capitals forward Marcus Johansson will not be playing in Saturday's game against the New York Rangers due to an illness that is not related to COVID-19. This will be the first game that Johansson will miss this season.


Johansson is the second-highest scorer on the Capitals team with 13 goals, following the team's star captain Alex Ovechkin who has scored 32 goals this season. In addition to his goals, Johansson has also contributed 15 assists this season. The 32-year-old Swede has played in a total of 813 career games for various teams, including the Capitals, New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, Buffalo Sabres, Minnesota Wild, and Seattle Kraken, and has scored a total of 435 points, comprising of 157 goals and 278 assists.
